American Hospital Dubai 19th St - Oud Metha - Dubai - United Arab Emirates Prime Medical Center Near Noor Islamic Bank Metro Station
FROM THE COUNTRY OF ORIGIN TO DUBAI:
If you don't have a vaccination certificate, a PCR test should be performed (note that antigenic tests will not be accepted). The PCR test can be performed in a laboratory, in a clinic or at the hospital.
The PCR test is compulsory for people aged 12+ and is to be carried out within 96 hours from the scheduled departure time of your flight. Also, you must print the results in French and in English and purchase international insurance with your insurance company, bank or airline. Finally, before your departure, we’d recommend checking Dubaiairport.ae or Emirates.com to see whether your departure time is still the same, as departure times may occasionally change.
EXAMPLE
Say your departure time in Dubai is 11:30 am. You’ll need to look at the time you received your results and determine when to do the PCR test. To enter Dubai, your results must be negative, and your test must have been performed within 96 hours of your scheduled departure time. If that’s not the case, you won’t be allowed to enter the country.
ONCE YOU ARRIVE IN DUBAI, HOW DOES IT WORK?
You won’t be able to do a PCR test in Dubai airport unless you have symptoms of COVID upon arrival or are randomly selected. Once in Dubai, wearing a mask is mandatory in public places, but you can take it off during your activities, while eating at a restaurant, etc. Apart from that, life is back to normal, and everything is open again.
ON THEIR RETURN
If you have a vaccination certificate, you do not need a PCR test. If you don't have a certificate, you will have to do a PCR test, but this time, it’ll have to be performed 72 hours before your flight scheduled departure time. The PCR test costs about 150AED or 33 euros. You can do it at the Emirates Speciality Hospital open 24/7. Otherwise, you can ask your hotel to provide you with the essential information. The results are usually given within 36 hours, so make sure you leave enough time! Lastly, if you test positive, you will be requested to quarantine (14 days). The cost is yours to bear. You can choose to quarantine wherever you want unless you’re traveling with Emirates.
